How To Encrypt your Android Phone: 5 Simple Steps
Phone encryption is one of the most important and significant things on any of todays smartphone. It protects the user data from anyone who doesn't have direct access to its password.
But let's not get too bent out of shape. We're here to share how you can encrypt your Android devices running the Jelly Bean and KitKat systems. That's right. Privacy features are already built in. You just need to turn them on.

Your device is full of personal and work information, like account numbers and passwords, that could be useful to racketeers and scammers. No matter who you are, you have a lot of personal and maybe professional data on your phone that you wouldn't want just anyon to access.
Here is a step by step demonstration of how to go about encrypting your phone. Take a look at the sliders below.
How to encrypt your smartphone:
Plug in your device's power cable and connect it to the battery charger. Charge your device and keep the power cable connected.
The encryption process takes time, around 30 minutes, if your phone dies in between you'll lose all your important data.

Open the device's Settings and look for the Security menu item. Then select the Screen Lock menu item and choose a PIN or Password and follow the prompts to confirm it.

Scroll to the Encrypt Phone or Encrypt Tablet option within the security settings and choose the Encrypt SD Card option by checking the checkbox.

Select your pin and confirm your pin at all next prompts.

Wait for sometime. The device will boot several times during the encryption process, which will take around 30 minutes. After the process is complete you'll be propmted to enter your password, which is your PIN as well. Make sure you do not forget this PIN.
