Did you know that WhatsApp could now be accessed from your PC/ desktops or laptops? WhatsApp launched its web compatible version earlier this year however many of you would still not know about this version. In case you are already aware of this service and are unable to access it, here we give you some quick steps on how you can now access your WhatsApp account even from a web browser.
The web-browser app is essentially an extension of your WhatsApp accounts on phone, and mirrors messages from your mobile to your PC or Laptop. This mean that you can not only check, but also reply to your WhatsApp messages from your desktops, while they will still be live on your phone.
Following are step by step guidelines on how to activate and use WhatApp's web client. However, before we go ahead, you must know that the service does not support iOS. So WhatsApp users on iPhone can not use web-client, due to restriction Apple puts on third party services. Those who use WhatsApp app for other platforms can open the web-based service on Apple Mac.
Check if the version of WhatApp app that you use on your smartphone has the option of Web client. If not, update to the latest version of the app to access the service.
Open the browser of your choice, including Chrome browser, Mozilla Firefox or Opera browser, on your PC/desktop/Mac, and go to https://web.whatsapp.com.
Scan the QR code that appears on the web-client using WhatsApp on your phone. This will connect the two versions. Note: You will have to switch on the Whatsapp web client option to pair the two versions.
You will now be able to see all you conversation and messages mirrored on the desktop. Go ahead and use it, but just ensure that your phone stays connected to the internet for the web service to work flawlessly.
To log out of the web-client, go to the setting option and log out.
For your information, the web-client works smoothly but has some restrictions. For instance, you cannot change your name, profile picture, status, create or edit groups and even chat or privacy settings using the web-client.
In addition to that, the web client does not even let users block unwanted people or spammers.
Use the mobile app in order to make any of these changes.
