How to back up contacts and email as its year end?

Those who have an email account sometimes or rarely lose their contacts and emails from their account, which is quite a catastrophe. Once lost, recreating your contacts list is big pain in the head, and you might not be able to get back certain contacts’ details. It is a good idea to be well prepared if in case you face such problems. The best option is to back up your contacts, emails, photos etc in your email account, quite often.Backing up the contacts is different for different email account providers. But basically, it is quite simple in all email service providers, namely Yahoo, Gmail, Microsoft, Rediff mail etc. After backing up the contacts in your email account to your computer, make sure you back up that file in an external storage device, in case your computer gets infected by harmful virus.A few email applications namely

• Optimum Email


• Gmail


• Yahoo! Mail

Switch to the classic version of the Optimum Email if you are currently using Adobe Flash version. The option to do that is available as a link in the top menu.

• Select the Address Book tab and click Import/Export link, which opens a dialog window


• Click the “Export’ button


• Fill in the file name and location and then click “Save”


• Now close the window

Gmail

• Go to Contacts and click on the “More” button


• Select “Export”


• In the “Export Contacts” window, check the All Contacts radio button to select all


• Select the desired export format or use default settings if you don’t have any idea about it


• Click “Export” and save the files to your computer

• Click on the “Contacts” tab and then click “Actions” button


• Select “Export All”


• Select the export format type and then click “Export Now” button


• If asked for verification, enter the text shown and then click “Export Now”


• Save the files to the computer

Windows Live

• Open Windows Live Mail and select Contacts which is in the lower left side of the window


• Click on “Export” button and select export format


• Name the file and give the desired location for saving it


• Click “Save”, then click “Next” and then “Finish” buttons

• Open the application and select “Export” from the File tab


• Click on the desired output format


• Name the file and give the save location


• Click Save button
