How To Install Android 6.0 Marshmallow Factory Image On Your Nexus 6
Google has finally rolled out the final version of Android 6.0 Marshmallow factory image for older Nexus devices.
Google wants everyone to get the taste of Marshmallow as soon as possible and released the latest Android Marshmallow firmware update to older devices before the new Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P even star shipping.

The Marshmallow update will also be released by OTA (over the air). But for those who do not want to wait for the update, can install the Android 6.0 Marshmallow firmware on your Nexus 6 using this post.
If this is your very first time installing or flashing a factory image on your smartphone, then read all the instructions and steps before actually performing the installing processes.

Points to Remember
Backup all important data and settings before installing the Android 6.0 on your Nexus device.
Make sure USB drivers of your Nexus device are installed on your PC.
Ensure bootloader in your Nexus device is unlocked.
This tutorial is only for Motorola Nexus 6 and we are not sure if it will work on the other variants of the Nexus 6.

Download the Android factory image for Nexus 6 on your PC from the download link given below.

Preparing Your Computer For Installation
Download Android SDK from the Android Developers website and install on your computer. Follow instructions provided in the file to install setup correctly.
Download Fastbook file for the specific OS platform from the link provided below. After downloading, extract the files to android-sdk-windowsplatform-tools directory. Create the directory if it does not exist.
Download Fastboot file for Windows
Preparing Your Nexus For Installation
Turn of your Nexus smartphone and connect to your computer using the USB cable.
Now, get into the Fastboot or Bootloader mode on your Nexus smartphone. To enter the Fastboot or Bootloader mode: press and hold Volume Up + Volume Down + Power buttons together for few seconds till you see the Fastboot menu.
Now extract the downloaded file anywhere in your computer. Go to the folder shamu-MRA58K and then copy/paste all the files to your Fastboot directory.
Final Step
From the factory image files under Fastbook directory in your computer. Run the file "flash-all.bat".
Now, wait for the installation processes to complete or follow the on-screen instruction on your phone if in case you have to unlock the bootloader.
After the installation completes, the phone will boot and it might take about 5 minutes to boot on your first time.
