How to report spam in Twitter?

Twitter is a fast growing social networking community portal. Tweets and Retweets are flowing in high volumes now every second.

Anything that violates the rules and regulations in Twitter can be considered as Spam. With increased possibilities of spam evolving on Twitter, it is often desirable that users have a basic idea about what a Spam is all about.

In order to report the spam, users will have to follow the below mentioned steps

• Users will first have to visit the account profile of the Spammer




• Then the users will have to tap the icon of the person that has been represented




• Now the users will encounter a drop-down Actions menu that includes options such as

  • Block Spammer

  
  

  • Report Spammer for spam

• Users will finally have to select the ‘Report@username for spam’

Inorder to block a Twitter user whom you think is a spam. Users will have to follow the below mentioned steps.

• Sign in to the user’s Twitter account




• Users will now have to navigate towards the profile page of the spammer or the person whom you wish to block

• Users will then have to click on the ‘Person Icon’




• Select ‘Block@Spammer for spam from the listed options




• Blocked users wont be able to add the users Twitter account to their list




• Users cant provide ‘@replies’




• The Spammers wont be able to follow the user




• Those users whom you have blocked wont be able to see your profile picture on their profile page




• Clicking ‘Unblock@Spammer’ will unblock the blocked user’s profile page

The initiatives that Twitter will take after reporting the accounts include;

• Twitter will block the spammer from replying or following the user




• Twitter will review the account of the spammer with the help of Twitter’s Trust and Safety Team

It has to be noted that users will not be able to view the immediate suspension of the account of the spammer.
