Messaging is one of those applications that are widely used across the world. It gives you a sense of nostalgic feeling since users can maintain the received messages in inbox as long as they can. And every time you read the older messages that you received, a sense of nostalgia is sure to come in to your mind.
But it also has certain drawbacks also; one of them includes the messaging application get slower and slower with the messages in the inbox increasing on a daily basis!
But yes, there are certain ways through which you can limit the number of messages that is overflowing in your inbox. The techniques are discussed below in detail in a step by step manner.
Start the Android device
Press the Main Menu button
Now the users will have to enter the main applications space
Select ‘Messaging’ tab from the following list of applications
It has to be noted that in many android devices, the messaging application will be available in the Home Screen itself
Once the user enters the messaging application, there the users has to check which of the following conversations has too many messages in it
On the extreme left side of the android device, users can find a key that will open up the ‘Options’ menu
Select Options
Messaging Options Sub Menu will be opened up
Locate ‘Delete Old Messages’ option
Check Mark the ‘Delete Old Messages’
Enabling of this option results in the automatic deletion of the oldest messages that are present in the conversation once it identifies that the messaging limit has been reached
Users can also adjust the maximum ‘text message limit’ to the numbers users wish. It is desirable to select ‘200’ as ‘Default’. If the device is slower. Then ‘100’ would be ok. Once the value is fixed, Press SET button
Now the users can navigate out of the menu and can look at the conversations where they can see that the number of conversations is represented in brackets at the right side of conversation
Users can manually delete the unwanted messages from their inbox if they wish to do so
