Paytm Gold Coins: How To Earn, Track, And Convert Them Into Digital Gold

Paytm has introduced a feature called Gold Coins that turns certain payments into a form of digital reward you can later convert into gold. Hee’s how this works.

What Gold Coins Are On Paytm

Gold Coins are virtual rewards you receive after completing eligible payments on the Paytm app. These coins can be redeemed and converted into digital gold, which then appears in your Paytm Gold balance.

It’s still a rewards system, just structured differently from regular cashback. You don’t get money back instantly. You collect coins first, then decide if and when to convert them into gold.

Which Payments Earn Gold Coins

Gold Coins are rewarded across common payment types such as:

• Scan & Pay QR payments
• UPI transfers
• Bill payments and recharges
• Payments made using credit cards, debit cards, or net banking

If you’re using a RuPay credit card, the number of coins earned is doubled for eligible transactions.

After each qualifying payment, you receive a scratch card. Once you scratch it, the Gold Coins are revealed and added to your balance.

How To Check Your Gold Coin Balance

To see how many Gold Coins you’ve collected:

1. Open the Paytm app.
2. Tap the Gold Coins icon on the home screen.
3. Your total balance will be visible there.

This section shows all coins earned from previous eligible transactions.

How To Convert Gold Coins Into Digital Gold

If you want to redeem your coins instead of letting them sit:

1. Open the Paytm app.
2. Tap on the Gold Coins icon.
3. Select Convert to Real Gold.
4. Confirm the conversion.

Once done, the coins move into your digital gold balance rather than remaining as reward points.

How To View Your Digital Gold Holding

To check how much gold you’ve accumulated:

1. Open the Paytm app.
2. Go to the Paytm Gold section on the home screen.
3. Your available digital gold balance will appear here.

This reflects only the coins you’ve already converted, not the total coins waiting to be redeemed.

What This Actually Means For Users

In practical terms, this system encourages slower accumulation instead of instant spending. You’re not forced to redeem anything immediately, and you stay in control of when conversion happens.
