NASA+ Is Coming to Netflix: How to Watch Rocket Launches, Spacewalks, and ISS Views from Your Couch
NASA is about to show up in the same place where you binge your favorite dramas and documentaries: Netflix. As part of a new collaboration, NASA’s free streaming service, NASA+, will soon be available directly through the Netflix interface — offering a front-row seat to rocket launches, astronaut spacewalks, and real-time views from the International Space Station (ISS).
The move is expected to go live later this summer. Once launched, the NASA+ channel will be placed within the regular Netflix experience, requiring no extra apps, subscriptions, or technical workarounds.

Space Content, Now Where the Audience Already Is
NASA+ isn’t a brand-new project — the agency launched it last year as a way to make its vast trove of content more user-friendly and accessible. But unless you were already following NASA closely, chances are you didn’t even know it existed.
That’s where Netflix comes in. With over 700 million subscribers worldwide, the platform offers NASA a direct connection to the kind of audience it’s been trying to reach: young, global, and curious — but not necessarily following rocket science on Twitter.
What Will You Be Able to Watch?
The upcoming integration will feature live, high-definition streaming of key space events. That includes:
- Rocket launches
- Astronaut spacewalks
- Mission control broadcasts
- Real-time Earth imagery from the ISS
How to Watch NASA+ on Netflix
Once the feature goes live later this summer, NASA+ content will appear within the regular Netflix interface, listed alongside shows, films, and live programming. There’s no additional cost or account needed — if you’re already a Netflix subscriber, you’re good to go.
You’ll likely find NASA+ content in the “Live” section or under a dedicated “NASA” category. Clicking on a stream will instantly tune you into real-time space events — no need to switch apps or log in elsewhere.
NASA+ Will Still Be Free Elsewhere
For those who prefer a more direct experience, NASA+ will continue to be available for free, without ads, on both the NASA app and NASA.gov.
Netflix is simply offering a new, frictionless way to watch.
When Is It Launching?
An exact launch date hasn’t been confirmed, but the rollout is slated for sometime this summer. Netflix will announce the full programming schedule closer to the go-live window.
