OnePlus 13 and 13s Users in India Can Now Sign Up for Android 16 Closed Beta — Here’s How to Join

Samsung and Nothing have already kicked off their Android 16 closed beta programs. Now, OnePlus is joining in, giving select users of the OnePlus 13 and 13s a chance to try the upcoming OS before its public release.

Limited to Indian Variants for Now

OnePlus is keeping this beta program fairly exclusive. Applications are open only for the Indian variants of the OnePlus 13 and 13s, and the company is capping participation at just 300 spots per model.

For the OnePlus 13s, your device needs to be running either version CPH2723_15.0.2.501(EX01) or CPH2723_15.0.2.400(EX01). For the OnePlus 13, it must be on CPH2649_15.0.0.840(EX01).

You also have to be an active member of the OnePlus Community, share feedback through the OS Testing App, and join the official Closed Beta Program Telegram group.

How to Apply

If you’re ready to take the plunge:

1. Go to Settings > About device > Up to date
2. Tap the icon in the top right corner
3. Select Beta program and follow the instructions

Once your application is approved, the Android 16 beta update will show up in the same menu for download. Applications are open till today.

Rolling Back to Stable

If things get too rough, you can roll back to the stable version. OnePlus will provide an official rollback package for both the OnePlus 13 and 13s, which you can install via Local OTA. The catch? The process wipes all your data, so a full backup is a must before you switch back.

Confidentiality and Restrictions

Like most closed betas, OnePlus wants to keep things under wraps. Participants can’t share screenshots, videos, or any details about new features. Running benchmarking apps or sharing the update package is also off-limits.

It’s worth noting this isn’t the final version of Android 16. Early builds can come with bugs, stability issues, and reduced performance, so it’s not ideal for your main phone.
