Samsung launched its first smartwatch called the Galaxy Gear last year and soon the device was launched in India. The South Korean tech giant entered into the wearable technology market with this particular device. However, it should be noted that the piece of wearable device was initially compatible only with the Galaxy Note 3 smartphone, which was announced alongside the Galaxy Gear last year. The Galaxy Gear, as of now, is not supported with most of the Galaxy smartphones from Samsung.
However, today GizBot has come up with a number of tips and tricks, which might help you use your galaxy Gear smartphone more efficiently. But before going ahead, lets refresh on the specs of the smartwatch.
The smartwatch features a 1.63-inch AMOLED display offering a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels. It is powered by a 800MHz processor and backed by 512MB of RAM and internal memory. The device is compatible with select Galaxy handsets (above Android 4.3 Jelly Bean). Well, the Galaxy Gear cannot be connected with iOS powered devices, which is obvious. It comes with an integrated camera that can take pictures as well as record videos in 720p HD quality. You can receive notifications, SMS, messages, receive / dial calls and much more with the smartwatch.
Take a look at the tips and tricks in the sliders below:
You can change the settings for the double-tap of the power key by going to the Gear Manager on your phone, select settings, then Double pressing power key.
You can also set a pattern lock to keep your Gear watch secure by going into settings on the Gear and selecting Privacy Lock.
Simply Double-tap with two fingers on any screen to bring up volume control, brightness control, battery level and Bluetooth status.
You can set which arm you normally wear your Gear on by going to settings on the Gear, select Sound, then Preferred Arm.
If you go into your call log, pick a contact, then swipe left across the screen, it will start voice command to send a text to that contact. If you do the same and swipe right it will make a call to the contact.
If you hold down the power button until the screen pops up with options to Power Off and Restart, you can also toggle through Mute/Vibrate/Sound, and set the Gear to Outdoor Mode.
