How to customize your keyboard's key?
Planning to customize your keyboard keys? Here's how you do it.
By default, the keyboard functions on the pre-assigned key. Have you ever felt the need of customizing the keyboard’s key? If yes, then you should go ahead to do that because Microsoft offers that option to you.
We have different work style, and depending on it, our need to reassign the key to access the various shortcuts and command differ. You can reassign the keys in the Keyboard Centre. However, it should be noted that the method discussed below depends on the key that you have selected to redeploy.
How to reassign a key?
Reassigning a key is not a Herculean task. With the simple steps given below, you can reassign the keys in any Windows version. But before you begin the procedure, you need to download the “Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Centre.” You can download it from the official website of Microsoft. The download link is available in “Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Centre” on the official webpage.
Once, you have downloaded it, check whether it has been installed on your system or not. In order to do that, in the Search bar type “Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Centre.” If it is successfully installed, you will be able to see the shortcut to open the app in the search bar itself. Just click on that shortcut to open the app.
Step 1: By connecting the keyboard of which you want to do a configuration chance, start the “Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Centre.”
Step 2: A list of key names will be displayed on your screen. Select the key that you want to reassign.
Step 3: You will now be able to view a command list of the key. Select the command that you want.
Voila! With just three simple steps you have successfully reassigned the hot keys on your keyboard.
You can also customize your keyboard from the “Ease of Access” settings available in Control Panel. All you need to do is under the “Make the keyboard easier to use,” turn on the “Filter Keys.” And now select “Setup Filter Keys” to customize keyboard settings according to your need.
