Used by more than 400 million users, Instagram is undoubtedly one of the most popular apps available out there. From uploading all about your lifestyle to stalking your exes, you can do it all on Instagram. And yeah, you can, of course, follow your favorite celebrity here. What am I trying to say here is that you end up using Instagram a lot more than you think.

How To Prevent Instagram From Slowing Your Phone

Using Instagram very often without manually making few changes can adversely impact your smartphone. Luckily, you can avoid it by following the three tips that we would be sharing in this post.

Use Less Mobile Data

Use Less Mobile Data

When using Instagram, you scroll very fast. It is because all you need to do is watch videos and see photographs. Instagram knows that its users will be fast-scrolling through the feed and therefore it preloads all the videos and pictures to give you a good user experience. This won't be a problem when you are running Instagram on Wi-Fi, however, if you are using it on mobile data, all the data will be consumed aggressively. You can prevent this excessive use of data by Instagram from the steps given below.

Step 1: Tap on your profile.

Step 2: Tap on "Options" placed on the top-right section of the screen.

Step 3: Tap on "Cellular Data" and then select "Use Less Data".

This process will prevent Instagram from pre-loading the videos on your Instagram feed when you are using your mobile data. Please note that your experience will not be affected when you are using Wi-Fi to run Instagram.

Turn Off All The Notifications

Turn Off All The Notifications

You don't always need to know who is doing what on Instagram. If you follow a huge number of people, you would be filled with a mess of notifications. Declutter everything by turning off all the notifications. When you turn on notifications, you actually indirectly permit Instagram to run in the background. As a result, both the battery and the mobile data is consumed. You can always check all the notification when you sign in to Instagram and yeah, therefore you don't need those notifications.

Say No To Duplications Of Photos

Say No To Duplications Of Photos

When you upload an image on Instagram, the app creates its folder on your smartphone to save those uploaded photos and videos. You don't need them because those photos are already available on your Instagram account. You can manually delete the images collected on your smartphone from the gallery. You can altogether say no to this duplication by following the steps given below.

Step 1: Tap on your profile.

Step 2: Tap on "Options."

Step 3: Toggle off "Original Photos."

The photos will no longer be saved in your camera.
