How to Automatically Share WhatsApp Status Updates on Instagram and Facebook
WhatsApp, the Meta-owned messaging platform, allows users to automatically share their WhatsApp Status updates directly on Instagram and Facebook. This means you don't need to post the same status separately on different platforms.
Once enabled, your WhatsApp status can automatically appear as a story on Instagram and Facebook. This feature works through the Account Center, which connects your Meta apps and allows cross-posting between them. After a quick one-time setup, the feature runs in the background and handles sharing automatically for each new status. Here's how you can enable it.
Step 1: Open WhatsApp and tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner. Then go to Settings.
Step 2: Tap on Privacy, and then select Status.
Step 3: Look for the Account Center option. Here, you will see options to share your status as Facebook Story and Instagram Story.
Step 4: Toggle on the Facebook Story and Instagram Story options to enable automatic sharing.
Once enabled, any status you post on WhatsApp can automatically be shared to your Facebook and Instagram stories. If you decide to stop cross-posting later, revisit the same Status privacy page and turn off either toggle, or both, and sharing ends immediately.
This simple setup suits users who post frequent updates and want them visible across Meta apps at once. It reduces repeated uploads, keeps stories aligned on WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook, and still gives full control, since the sharing setting can be changed whenever needed.
