How to delete apps on Xiaomi devices without rooting
OEMs will preload their smartphones with apps in order to improve the user experience. But not all the apps and features those are preloaded are important to all the users. Some users will have their own apps to execute a specific task. For instance, most users prefer Inbox by Google over Gmail and Google Calendar over Custom Calendar that is installed by OEMs.
The presence of the unwanted apps will annoy the users and also consume the memory and drain the battery. One method to remove these apps is simple uninstalling them by rooting the phone. But many users will not want to root their phone as it is a risky and complicated process.
Most preinstalled apps cannot be uninstalled or disabled by users if the phone is not rooted. If you have a Xiaomi phone that runs MIUI, you can disable preinstalled Gapps and MIUI apps. But there will not be no option to disable the apps from Installed App settings. You can follow this guide to disable the apps you think you cannot.
Step 1: Go to Play Store and slide rightwards to open the menu. Select Help & Feedback.
Step 2: Select Delete or Disable apps on Android. This option might not be displayed at the top in all phones. You might have to scroll down to locate it.
Step 3: Select Tap to go to Application Settings. On doing so, you will be redirected to the Installed apps list.
Step 4: Select any Gapp like Gmail, Google Play Music or Google Play Movies & TV, and you will get an option to disable it. You can also disable some MIUI apps like Contacts and Calendar.
Remember that not all preinstalled apps can be disabled by following these steps. You can disable only some apps. If you use a MIUI phone and want to disable some apps given above, you can try this method on your phone. After following this space, you can let us know those apps that you disabled from the comments section below so that it is useful for many others using such phones.
