How to find out if your emails are being tracked and disable it
In the current situation, with technology in rising, it is easy to track the one you wish to. When it comes to business, being able to monitor as many as possible is typically a good thing. One of the perfect example here is the Email tracking. It is a method for monitoring the email delivery to the intended recipient. This confirms the sender, whether the mail has reached safely to the recipient or not.
When it comes to sending emails, we have a lot of services, where the tracking can be disabled. In this article, we will guide with the information to detect and disable the email tracking service. Follow the below steps to detect and disable the email tracking
How does it work?
Basically, the email tracking works in two ways,, where the tracking software will attach an invisible trackable image called pixel-beacon, or else the user will receive a link that you can click to see the email content.
In case of the former, the image will be connected to the tracking software servers to let them know about email. The link on the other side is a tracker in itself.
How to detect?
Method 1: Look out for external images
Most of the email services including Gmail, Outlook, and Yahoo doesn't show external images. In this case, the provider itself will ask you to open external images or not. Here you can decline this request to disable tracking for that email.
Method 2: Look out for links
Never ever click the link inside the email to see the content, unless if you are ok with the sender knowing that you have read the email.
Method 3: Look out for third-party email address
Some of the server side trackers send their email along with the email. If you want to check whether your email is being tracked go to email service and look for Show Original message option. To see the addresses in the original message, Press Ctrl + F and type.com in it. This will reveal all the email or website addresses mentioned there. If you find anything suspicious, search it online to whether it connects to a tracking service.

Method 4: Install app
If you are not sure about the above method, you can install a third-party app called Ugly Email. It's a Chrome extension that lets you see tracked emails in Gmail. This app can detect and disable email tracking, and can even tell which service was used for tracking.
