    Step 2: Now scroll down, till you see the Two-Factor Authentication

    Step 3: Tap Require Security Code toggle on

    In case, if you haven't registered your phone number, you must do it. Now, the code will be sent to you. Enter that code and tap Next. If you want to turn it off,

    Backup code

    When the two-factor authentication is on, every time you log into Instagram from an unknown device you'll be asked to enter a backup code or an SMS security code as we mentioned above. If in case, you didn't receive SMS due to connectivity issues, you can still log in to the app using backup code. In order to get the backup codes, follow the below instructions

    Step 1: Go to your profile and tap the top-right corner

    Step 2: Now scroll down, till you see the Two-Factor Authentication

    Step 3: Tap Get Backup Codes.
