How To Remotely Locate And Erase Data on-Your Windows 10 Smartphone
One of the advantage of the Android is its ability to easily find your lost phone. Well, Microsoft has also bought this utility to Windows phone with Windows 10 operating system.
Number of handsets that run on Windows 10 (very few at the moment) are available in the selected markets. Well, two of the latest launched Windows 10 powered high-end smartphones: the Lumia 950 and the Lumia 950XL made a huge buzz in the market.

Windows 10 is designed primarily as a cross platform operating system so that it can work seamlessly across devices such as phones, tablets, laptop, desktops, and all-in-one. Meanwhile, the first major Windows 10 upgrade brings in new features. One such feature is the ability to find your lost device: either laptop or tablet or a smartphone running Windows 10.
Microsoft's 'Find My Phone' utility will locate your lost laptop, smartphone, or the tablet by its last location. Which means, it shows the location where the device was last connected to the Internet. Find My Device is disabled by default. Here's how to enable it.
Sign in to Find My Phone for the first time
The first time you use Find My Phone, make sure you've already signed in on your phone using your Microsoft account (formerly Windows Live ID).
Step 1:
Go to Microsoft find device page. If you are prompted to sign in, use the sam Microsoft account you used to sign in on your phone.
Step 2:
Choose the phone or laptop or tablet you want to find, then click Find My Phone.
To ring or lock your phone
Go to Microsoft find device page, If you're prompted to sign in, use the same Microsoft account you used to sign in on your phone.
Step 1:
Choose the phone you want to ring or lock, and then click Find My Phone.
Step 2:
To make your phone ring, click Ring and then follow the instructions. It will ring even if the volume is off or set to vibrate.
Step 2:
To lock your phone and show a message on the lock screen, click Lock, and then follow the instructions. If you don't already have a password set up on your phone, you'll need to enter one-you'll use it to unlock the phone if you get it back.
To erase your phone
If you're certain you can't get your phone back, or if you have sensitive information on it that you want to protect until you recover it, you can erase your phone remotely.
Step 1:
Go to Microsoft find device page, If you're prompted to sign in, use the same Microsoft account you used to sign in on your phone.
Step 2:
Choose the phone you want to erase, and then click Find my phone.
Step 3:
If you're absolutely, positively sure, select the I'm ready to erase my phone check box, and then click Erase.
