The smartphone has top-end hardware and runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The device comes with a 5.3-inch QHD display with a pixel density of 554 PPI which is very sharp and crisp. Under the hood, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset along with 4GB of RAM.

As said earlier, the LG G5 runs on a customized version of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow which is known as LG UX 5.0. And, LG has added some tweaks to the OS, which makes it more useful and here are some of the tips and tricks with which you can use the G5 effectively.

Use Your Volume Key to Control Your smartphone

The first one on this list is the volume key controls. The volume key rocker is now found on the left side of the smartphone unless like the G4 which is placed on the rear side. The volume key can be tuned for performing some operations.

You can find the Volume Key settings under the 'Settings> Shortcut Key'. Enable the Smart Key option to change the settings of volume key. The operations include double press the volume up button to open the LG Capture+, the double press of the volume down button launches the camera application, etc.

Change the Theme to Get a New Look and Feel

LG packs a theme engine with the LG G5 which can be found under Settings app. Search with the name called 'Theme' and you'll see an option as it will be a tough job to find the option separately. You can download various themes from the Google Play Store and play with them for a new look and feel.

Change Font as you like

The LG UX also has an option to change the fonts. The fonts can be seen under 'Settings> Fonts'. There are some preinstalled fonts coming with the device and you can choose between them. Do make a note that changing the font requires your smartphone to reboot.

Hide and Resize the app icons with the launcher

LG's proprietary launcher has the ability to resize and hide the app icons and application grid. These features can be accessed from the launcher itself. Long pressing on the home screen brings you the settings menu where you need to enable these options, which is a decent addition.

Smart Settings

Lg G5 also has a feature called as 'Smart Settings' which is used to save sound profiles, Bluetooth Profiles, and Wi-Fi settings. This is mainly based on the location as the device stores your location if you enable the Smart Settings and asks you to choose certain apps and launches them automatically once you reach that location.
