At a glitzy event in Delhi recently, Lenovo finally launched the much anticipated Vibe K5 Note in India. The smartphone comes with some interesting set of features at an affordable price range.

Having said that, Lenovo introduced the smartphone in two variants - one with 3GB of RAM and the other one with 4GB of RAM priced at Rs. 11,999 and 13,499 respectively, available on Flipkart; starting from today.Meanwhile, the Lenovo Vibe K5 comes with some interesting set of features such as VR headset support, TheatreMax technology, and support for Dolby Atmos Sound making the device stand out from the competition in the similar price range.

Diving into the specifications, the Vibe K5 Note boasts a 5.5-inch 1080p FHD (full HD display). Under the hood, is a MediaTek 6755 chipset with all the eight cores clocked at 1.8GHz. The device comes with 3GB of RAM/ 4GB of RAM variants and 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card slot.

There is 13MP shooter on the rear and an 8MP shooter on the front. Boasting a unibody metal design, the smartphone has a fingerprint sensor on the rear placed below the camera. The smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is fueled by a 3,500mAh battery.

The Dolby Atmos has been one of the Lenovo's prominent technology over the ages. The Vibe K5 Note also comes with support for Dolby Atmos and Lenovo has further tweaked this feature a bit. In the Vibe K5 Note, you can choose between various preloaded profiles such as movies, music, gaming, voice, etc. You can even create your own custom profile of your liking. You can launch the Dolby Atmos feature from the ‘Settings' by heading over to Settings>Dolby Atmos. Alternatively, you can launch the Dolby Atmos from the notification toggles screen.

TheatreMax Technology

The Vibe K5 Note comes with the TheatreMax technology which helps users to get a realistic experience with the help of ANTVR headset. Lenovo is also adding some additional accessories such as TheatreMax Controller and Amkette Evo Gamepad Pro 2 while playing the games. These accessories will be available from the e-commerce site Flipkart.

The fingerprint sensor on the Lenovo Vibe K5 Note is placed on the back within of the index finger. The fingerprint sensor is not just a sensor to unlock the smartphone, but it can also be programmed for other functionalities such as triggering selfies, doubling as a home key and much more. All these features can be accessible by heading over to the fingerprint management section in the ‘Settings' option.

The Vibe K5 Note also has support for the Lenovo's 'Quick-Snap' feature which helps in capturing a picture when your device is locked. Just like the other Chinese manufacturers, Lenovo also bundles a theme engine with its Vibe UI. As of now, the Vibe UI comes with only six preinstalled themes and there is no option to download themes from Play Store, however, Lenovo will be adding the support in coming days.

Lenovo is integrating the VR split screen support within the Vibe UI itself, as other smartphones require an additional application to split the screen in order to support the VR mode. Pressing the power button in the Vibe K5 Note shows up an option to enable to VR mode.
