Restore Your Deleted Apps and Games: A Step-by-Step Tutorial for Android

The Google Play Store keeps a record of apps you've installed, even if you've deleted them. If you have played games via Google Play Games, you can reinstall them from your library. Often, your saved game progress will be restored

To view your deleted app history on a smartphone, open the Play Store and tap your profile picture in the top right corner. Select "Manage apps and device," then go to the "Manage" tab. From the drop-down menu, choose "Not installed."

How to Find and Reinstall Deleted Apps and Games on Google Play Store?

Recovering Deleted Apps Using Play Store

Tick the box next to the apps you want to recover and tap the download button. You can select multiple apps for simultaneous recovery. Alternatively, use a PC by visiting the Play Store in a browser. Click your profile picture at the top right corner and select "Library & devices."

Select an app from the list and choose "Install" or "Install on more devices." Choose your desired device and click "Install." Account verification may be required before installation.

Restoring Games with Google Play Games

The Google Play Games app lists previously installed games on your Android device. It saves game progress in the cloud for supported games, allowing easy restoration. Download and install Google Play Games, then click "Library" at the bottom. Tap the download button for any game you wish to recover.

Recovering Apps on Samsung Devices

Samsung users can find old, deleted apps through the Galaxy Store. Open Galaxy Store, tap the hamburger menu at the top right corner, and select "My Apps." To filter old, deleted apps, tap on the filter icon and enable "Show installed apps." Confirm by tapping OK. The Galaxy Apps Store will display recently deleted apps. Tap on the download icon next to any app you wish to restore.

Challenges in Finding Deleted Apps

If you're unable to recover an app previously installed on your Android device, several reasons could be responsible:

  • The app might have been discontinued and removed from the Play Store.
  • Your device may not support it due to outdated Android versions.
  • The app could be banned for violating terms or causing security issues.
  • You might have removed it from your installed lists.

If an app is unavailable in the Play Store, search other third-party stores or websites cautiously. Ensure these sources are trustworthy before downloading. If unsuccessful, contact developers for a supported version.
