You Can Now Control Your Lumio TV Using WhatsApp and Instagram Messages - Here's How
Lumio has launched the public beta of Project Neo in India, a feature built into its TLDR app that lets users find and play content on Lumio Vision TVs and Arc Projectors by messaging on WhatsApp or Instagram.
Here's how it works and how to get started.

Step 1: Update the TLDR App
Project Neo is available from today via a Play Store update on supported Lumio devices. Open the Play Store on your Lumio Vision TV or Arc Projector, update the TLDR app, and follow the beta access instructions available at neo.lumiolabs.ai. Note that Project Neo is exclusively available on Lumio Vision TVs and Lumio Arc Projectors and is not compatible with other smart TVs or third-party devices.
Step 2: Message TLDR on WhatsApp
Once set up, open WhatsApp on your phone and message the TLDR account. You can search for content in plain language, by title, actor, director, genre, mood, language, or even a half-remembered plot description. If you're not sure what to watch, you can say you're bored or ask for recommendations and Neo will surface trending picks across supported platforms.
Neo currently supports nine languages: Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Odia, Marathi, and Kannada, with more to follow.
Step 3: Use Instagram to Share What You Want to Watch
If you come across a post, poster, or screenshot of a film or show on Instagram while scrolling, you can share it directly with the TLDR account on Instagram. Neo identifies the title from the image and sends it to the TLDR app on your Lumio device, ready to play on screen without any additional steps.
Step 4: Watch It on Your TV
Once Neo receives your request through WhatsApp or Instagram, it finds the content and sends it directly to your Lumio device. No remote navigation, no app switching, no scrolling through menus. The content plays on your TV or projector from where you left the conversation on your phone.
