Your Friends Can Now See What Reels You Like on Instagram — Here’s How to Hide It?
Did You Know? Your friends can now see which Reels you like, and you can view theirs too, making it easier to start conversations around shared content. For the unaware, Instagram has recently introduced a set of new features, including a dedicated Friends tab, that lets you and your friends see each other's liked Reels.
While this feature was initially launched earlier this year, it is now available globally. In this story, we'll explain how to check the Reels your friends like – and how to hide your own activity if you prefer more privacy.
How to See What Reels Your Friends Like on Instagram
Step 1: Open Instagram, go to the Reels section, and tap on the "Friends" tab at the top.
Step 2: To switch back to your regular Reels feed, simply tap on the "Reels" tab again.

However, Instagram also gives users control over what's shown in the Friends tab, including the ability to hide their own likes and comments on reels. Here's how to manage it:
Step 1: Open Instagram and tap on your profile icon.
Step 2: Tap the three horizontal lines (menu) in the top right corner and search for "Activity in Friends tab."
Step 3: Under "Who can see your likes and comments on Reels in the Friends tab," you'll see two options: Followers you follow back and No one.
Step 4: Select "No one" and your friends won't be able to see which Reels you like or comment on.
