RIL 48th AGM: How to Watch Livestream?

RIL's 48th AGM is scheduled to commence at 2 PM IST today and will be available for viewing via livestream on RIL and Jio's official YouTube channels as well as their social media platforms.

RIL's Strategic Announcements

Details about the announcements at the 48th RIL AGM are not yet disclosed. However, this year has already seen several significant developments from RIL and its subsidiaries. A notable merger between Reliance Jio's Viacom18 and Star India Private Limited led to the creation of a new streaming platform called JioHotstar, merging JioCinema with Disney+ Hotstar.

There are speculations that RIL's telecom division, Jio, might announce a partnership with Apple to introduce Rich Communication Services (RCS) messaging on iPhones in India. This collaboration could be officially confirmed during the meeting.

Technological Advancements in Telecom

Announcements related to Jio's indigenously developed 5G stack and expansion of its standalone (SA) infrastructure might be made. Additionally, updates on JioFiber and advancements in their 6G technology could also be shared.

The company launched JioBrain, an AI-powered platform leveraging low-latency 5G and machine learning for developing new tools and products. Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL), announced new features for JioTV+. These included accessing various OTT apps through a single login via JioTV+. Another major announcement was the introduction of Jio TV OS for the Jio Set-Top Box. This operating system offers a faster, smoother, and more personalised experience with support for streaming in 4K resolution, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos.
