Snapdeal announces AI Hackathon for professionals worldwide

Snapdeal has announced the launch of 'AI Hackathon, for professionals worldwide to unlock the potential of Artificial Intelligence in addressing business problems pertaining to the commerce sector.

This competition challenges participants to solve interesting problems around computer vision and natural language processing. Some key issues to be tackled by the hackers include the ability to personalize search results to suit each customer's requirements and minimization of fraud on the platform. The winner will be selected based on his/ her ability to solve the real - world business problems.

As part of this strategic initiative, Snapdeal aims to engage super-smart Artificial Intelligence experts to join Snapdeal's team. This 30 days' challenge is starting from September 10, 2018, and will witness the participation of enthusiastic tech-geeks from across the world to participate in this mega event.

As part of the competition, the winner must beat the algorithm built by the internal team at Snapdeal and the algorithm built by other contestants. The winner will be rewarded with a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/- and will have an opportunity to join Snapdeal's expert AI team.

Besides, Snapdeal had tied up with 12 banks including HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Citibank, American Express, Axis Bank, HSBC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Yes Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, IndusInd Bank, Federal Bank) and 2 digital wallets (FreeCharge and Mobikwik) to provide great deals to users who opted for digital payments (credit / debit cards and wallets) for their online purchases at Snapdeal in the April'17 - March'18 period.

Besides tying up with banks and digital wallets for the next financial year, Snapdeal has partnered with Visa to let visa cardholders of all banks benefit from opting to use the digital payment mode. Visa cardholders will get instant discounts using a unique code every time they shop on Snapdeal. Digital payment discounts are on top of all other offers that Snapdeal would be running throughout the year.
