7 Reasons why this hair-thin HP Spectre 13 will give the MacBook Pro a run for its Money!
If you found the 12 inch Retina MacBook from Apple slim and sexy, then wait as HP is here to amaze you. Meet the HP Spectre 13, a Windows powered Laptop that is approximately as slim as three AAA batteries. As a matter of fact it the slimmest laptop till date.

Just in case though that the 12 inch Retina MacBook 2015 was the slimmest laptop around, then wait as the new HP Spectre 13 will simply amaze you. The American PC maker apparently seems to have taken vow to give Apple as run for its money. Wondering why? Well, the HP Spectre 13 at 10.5 mm is straight 2.6 mm slimmer than the MacBook Pro which measure at 13.1mm.
#2
HP Spectre isn't all about being slim, in fact it is one of the sexiest Windows laptops available in the market. To make the HP Spectre 13 look like a truly premium product, the American PC maker has closely worked with two famous designers Tord Boontjee and Jess Hannah. Apparently there are two limited edition models of the HP Spectre 13 - one made of diamond and the other of 18K gold. However, it worth noting that these limited edition models wouldn't go for sale, instead it would be shelled off via an auction during the Cannes Film Festival.
#3
As compared to the 12 inch MacBook Pro, the HP Spectre don a larger 13.3 inch display with a resolution of 1920x1080p. Apparently this is lower than the Retina panel of the MacBook Pro, but it's still decent enough. Those looking for a sharper display are however recommend to opt for the recently launched Dell XPS 13.
#4
In process of making a slim product, the OEMs often end up cutting the processing power of their product. This is quite obvious as a slim laptop can't have enough space to accommodate a large heat sink to curb down the heat. Surprisingly this isn't the case with the HP Spectre as the laptop makes use of either Intel i5/i7 chips. On the other hand Retina MacBook Pro makes use of a low power Intel Core M-Y6310 chip clocked at 1.1GHz each.
#5
Unlike the MacBook Pro, the HP Spectre sports a 512GB of PCIe SSD thereby allowing you to store most of your data on the laptop itself. On the contrary the 12 inch MacBook Pro comes with just 256GB of SSD across all variants.
#6
One of the major drawbacks of the Apple MacBook Pro 12 inch was lack of multiple ports. Instead of bundling it a number of ports as we are used to seeing in most laptops out there, the MacBook Pro came with just single USB Type C port. HP has however understood the concern of the users and have successfully incorporated 3 USB Type C ports in their latest laptop. Incidentally all the three ports can be used for charging the device.
#7
No Apple fan boy can ever deny this basic fact that products from the Cupertino giant are pricy. The same can be said for the Apple Retina MacBook Pro. The 12 inch model is priced at Rs 97,500 on Amazon. On the other hand the HP Spectre comes at a launch price of $1169.99 which is roughly Rs 76,000.
