Acer Aspire Vero 15 Goes Green With Eco-Friendly Build: Features

Just in time for the upcoming Earth Day, Acer has announced the eco-friendly Aspire Vero 15 laptop. The device's chassis is built from 40% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic, while the keycaps and power adapter casing are made of 50% PCR plastics.

Although the Vero 15 is marketed as a green laptop, it doesn't appear to skimp on performance. The device is powered by a 13th Gen Intel Evo processor and packs in up to 16GB of RAM. It will launch in June, with the price starting from $699.99 (approx. ₹57,500).

Acer Aspire Vero 15 Specifications

The Acer Aspire Vero 15 features a 15.6-inch display with a Full HD resolution. The panel has an aspect ratio of 16:9 and covers 100 percent of the sRGB color gamut.

The Vero 15 is equipped with up to a 13th Gen Intel processor with Core i3, i5, and i7 options, which is accompanied by an Intel Iris Xe GPU. It is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 1TB of SSD storage.

The Aspire Vero 15 features a 1440p QHD webcam with Acer PurifiedView and PurifiedVoice which includes AI Noise Reduction tech which reportedly enhances the call quality.

The laptop includes plenty of ports as well, with a Thunderbolt 4/USB Type-C, HDMI 2.1, two USB3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports, and a 3.5mm audio jack. As for connectivity, the laptop supports Wi-Fi 6E.

Acer Aspire Vero 15 Design

Acer claims that the Aspire Vero 15 was designed to "incorporate more recycled materials" and "minimize waste." The laptop's chassis is made from 40% PCR plastic and the manufacturing process reportedly produces 30% fewer CO2 emissions.

The brand adds that the chassis is paint-free and includes less volatile organic compounds compared to its predecessors. The Vero 15 features keycaps and an adapter casing made of 50% PCR plastic. Additionally, its OceanGlass trackpad features recycled ocean-bound plastic.

The Aspire Vero 15 utilizes standardized screws for ease of repairability. Acer claims that the laptop comes in a recyclable box built from 100% recycled paper and up to 90% recycled cardboard. The packaging can be repurposed as an ergonomic laptop stand.

As for energy consumption, the Vero 15 comes with an in-built VeroSense management app that monitors the laptop's battery level. It also offers four performance modes that can extend the battery life.
