Apple MacBook Air with M4 Chips Reportedly Coming in March: Here’s What to Expect!
Apple is gearing up to introduce its next MacBook Air, anticipated to feature the M4 chip. This model will likely replace the MacBook Air M3, which debuted in March 2024.
The new release is expected to offer two display sizes and include Apple Intelligence features. Previously, Apple unveiled a MacBook Pro with M4 Pro and M4 Max chips in October, alongside updated Mac Mini and iMac models.

MacBook Air M4 Launch Timeline
According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple's latest MacBook Air models with the M4 chip are slated for a March launch. The company plans to update the 13-inch and 15-inch versions of the MacBook Air M3 with this new chip. Staff preparations for this release are reportedly underway, as mentioned in Gurman's Power On newsletter.
The upcoming MacBook Air M4 models are expected to feature a more robust M4 processor as their primary enhancement. Codenamed J713 and J715, these 13-inch and 15-inch models were first mentioned by Gurman last October. However, additional upgrades remain uncertain at this time.
Potential Upgrades and Features
While specifics about other enhancements for the MacBook Air M4 remain unclear, there is speculation that Apple might incorporate a Thunderbolt 4 port. This would be an improvement over the Thunderbolt 3 port found on its predecessor. Additionally, Apple may offer a variant with a nano-texture finish for improved viewing consistency, similar to the MacBook Pro (M4, 2024).
If the projected timeline holds true, only two more Mac computers will require updates with Apple's latest chipset. Reports suggest that Apple is developing a new Mac Studio (codenamed J575), potentially launching between March and June.
Future Developments
No information has surfaced regarding potential upgrades for the Mac Pro with an M4 Pro or M4 Max chip. However, further details about these devices might emerge following the anticipated March launch of the MacBook Air M4. In related news, Apple is reportedly integrating its in-house modem with future main chipsets. Additionally, iPhone 16e assembly has commenced in India for both domestic sales and export purposes.
Meanwhile, Apple has withdrawn its Advanced Data Protection feature in the UK due to government demands. The iPhone 16e benchmark listing recently confirmed it includes 8GB of RAM shortly after its launch. The tech giant aims for its iPhone 17 series to potentially replace standalone vlogging cameras in the future. This ambition highlights Apple's ongoing commitment to innovation across its product lines.
