Apple October 2026 Events: Smart Home Hub, Touchscreen MacBook Pro and M6 Macs Expected

Apple is gearing up for a busy October, with two major hardware announcements expected this month. The company is reportedly preparing to unveil several products across its smart home, Mac and iPad lineups. The first event, scheduled for October 13, will focus on connected home devices, while another announcement is expected around October 27.

Apple marketing chief Greg Joswiak confirmed the October 13 event through a post on X. Titled "Welcome Home," the showcase is expected to introduce new smart home hardware and Siri-powered features. Meanwhile, the second announcement could bring significant upgrades to Apple's MacBook lineup, including its first touchscreen MacBook Pro.

Apple’s ‘Welcome Home’ Event on October 13: What to Expect

Apple October 13 Event: What to Expect

Apple's October 13 event is expected to focus on expanding its presence in the smart home market. Although the company already offers products such as the HomePod, Apple TV and HomeKit, competitors like Google and Amazon continue to have a stronger presence in connected speakers, displays and home automation.

The biggest expected announcement is a new smart home hub featuring a built-in display. The device could serve as a central control system for compatible smart home accessories, allowing users to manage lights, security cameras, thermostats, music and video calls from one place.

The smart home hub is also expected to integrate Siri-powered features, potentially giving Apple's voice assistant a more prominent role in everyday home interactions. Deeper integration with Apple's newer AI features could further enhance its functionality.

New HomePod Mini and Apple TV Models Could Launch

Apple is also expected to refresh the HomePod mini, its most affordable smart speaker. The device has gone several years without a major hardware update, making a new model a possible addition to the October lineup.

A refreshed Apple TV streaming device could also debut, potentially bringing faster performance, improved smart home controls and closer integration with Apple's services.

Third-party partnerships with companies such as LG Electronics and Schneider Electric could also feature in Apple's smart home strategy. Wider compatibility with connected accessories will be important if the company wants to compete more effectively with established smart home platforms.

Touchscreen MacBook Pro and M6 Macs Expected Around October 27

Apple is reportedly planning another product announcement around October 27, with Macs and iPads expected to take centre stage.

The most notable product could be Apple's first touchscreen MacBook Pro. The company has traditionally relied on keyboards, trackpads and external input devices for Mac computers, making a touchscreen model a significant change to its laptop strategy.

The redesigned MacBook Pro models are tipped to feature OLED displays and slimmer, lighter designs. Apple could also bring its Dynamic Island interface to the Mac, extending a feature introduced on the iPhone to its laptop lineup.

The new machines are expected to target creative professionals working in video editing, photography, audio production and graphic design.

Apple could also introduce its next-generation M6 chips in select Mac models. The 14-inch MacBook Pro and iMac are among the devices expected to receive processor upgrades, although their external designs could remain unchanged.

Redesigned iPad Mini With OLED Display Also Expected

Apple could round out its October announcements with a redesigned iPad mini. The upcoming compact tablet is expected to feature an OLED display, potentially offering deeper blacks and improved contrast compared with existing display technology.

The tablet could also receive a landscape-oriented front camera, making video calls more convenient when the device is used with a keyboard or stand. Speaker improvements are reportedly planned as well.

Apple has yet to officially confirm the complete product lineup for these announcements. However, the expected launches could provide an early look at the company's smart home ambitions and its plans for the next generation of Macs and iPads.
