ASUS Launches Chromebook CX14 in India With Lightweight Design, Google Workspace Integration, and More

ASUS has launched its latest Chromebook CX14 in India, a minimal and durable laptop aimed squarely at students and educators looking for a reliable, lightweight computing solution.

The new device runs on ChromeOS, features Google Workspace tools out of the box, and starts at ₹18,990.

A Chromebook Designed for Simplicity and Mobility

The Chromebook CX14 stands out not by pushing specs to the limit, but by emphasizing durability, ease of use, and portability. Weighing in at just 1.39kg, the device is U.S. Military Grade certified and features a 180-degree hinge, allowing the screen to lie flat for collaborative work or tabletop learning.

A wear-resistant paint coating and 30% recycled plastic construction reflect a shift toward more sustainable design practices, while reinforced materials promise 2.5x better abrasion resistance.

ChromeOS and Google Workspace

As expected, the CX14 runs ChromeOS, with all the familiar benefits that come with it: seamless Google Workspace access, automatic updates, built-in antivirus, and fast boot times. ASUS also includes 100GB of Google Cloud storage, ideal for students who rely on cloud-based learning platforms or educators managing shared content across devices.

Offline access is baked in via automatic file backups, and a Titan C security chip ensures enhanced protection for student and teacher data.

Connectivity, Display, and Ports

The laptop features a 14-inch Full HD display, available in TN or VIPS panel variants, both offering anti-glare coatings. The VIPS version also offers slightly higher brightness at 300 nits.

Each model is powered by an Intel Celeron N4500 processor, with configurations going up to 8GB RAM and 128GB eMMC storage. Battery capacity is rated at 42Wh, which should offer all-day usage for typical classroom or work-from-home scenarios.
