Asus ROG Zephyrus world's slimmest gaming laptop launched in India: Price, features and more
Asus ROG Zephyrus is aimed at gaming enthusiasts and not meant for casual gamers by any means.
Asus has just launched the world's thinnest gaming laptop, the ROG Zephyrus, in India. The company unveiled the Zephyrus at the ROG Masters 2017 South Asia Finals at The Lalit Bengaluru.
Talking about the Zephyrus, the gaming laptop features a beautiful slim design with powerful hardware under the hood. The main USP of this laptop is its form factor and the new cooling technology which the company claims will deliver uncompromised performance.
While the powerful laptop was first announced at this year's Computex 2017 trade show in Taipei, the ROG Zephyrus is designed for hardcore gamers who are on the go. Further, Asus claims its Zephyrus is the "world's thinnest gaming laptop" with Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080.
Besides, the laptop profile varies from 17.9mm down to 16.9mm to its thinnest point. The laptop weighs under 3kgs and is powered by an IntelCore i7 Kaby Lake processor and Windows 10. The VR-ready laptop also allows its user to perform native game streaming with Beam Microsoft's streaming service.
As for controlling the temperature, the laptop is cooled by what Asus describes as "Aero Accelerator (AA) technology that increases the speed and efficiency of airflow" through the laptop. "It is cooler, quieter and does not sacrifice on the performance aspect."
Asus ROG Zephyrus ships with a 15.6-inch Full HD display with an anti-glare coating and the company claims that the display delivers an ultra smooth visuals and gaming at a true 120Hz frame rate. The laptop also comes equipped with Nvidia G-sync, up to 32-64GB SD RAM and offers 256GB, 512GB and 1TB of M.2 PCle options. The laptop also comes with a USB Type-C port, four USB 3.0 ports, Bluetooth 4.1, HDMI 2.0, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
One of the key highlights of the laptop is also its perfected gaming keyboard with Aura RGB lighting and innovative touchpad with 10-key functionality. "Asus Aura technology provides dynamic and customizable lighting effects over the entire keyboard as well as separately highlighted customizable effects for the WASD and QWER key groups," the company stated. Interestingly, the laptop features anti-ghosting keys which ensure that the commands are instantly and correctly interpreted even when 30 keys are pressed simultaneously. The notebook's keyboard is ergonomically designed to provide optimum comfort and typing accuracy claims Asus.
Apart from the above-mentioned features, Asus ROG Zephyrus is also one of the first few laptops to employ NVidia's new Max-Q design technology. "With Max-Q designed laptops, gamers can experience high-fidelity and high-resolution entertainment whenever and wherever they want it," the company said in a media release.
"ROG aims to create laptops that are slimmer, cooler, quieter and more powerful than ever before - to fully address the needs of today's highly mobile gamers," said Peter Chang, Regional Head - South Asia & Country Manager, ASUS India.
Talking about the pricing, Asus ROG Zephyrus is priced at Rs. 2,99,999 in India and will be available for pre-orders starting September on the company's website.
