CES 2025 | New LG Gram 2 Series Laptops Launched With On-Device AI Features and Intel Core Ultra CPUs

LG Electronics has introduced its 2025 Gram series, marking the launch of its first laptops with on-device AI capabilities. This new range, set to be showcased at CES 2025 in January, includes the Gram Pro, Gram Pro 2-in-1, Gram, and Gram Book models.

The 2025 LG Gram models feature LG's innovative Gram AI technology. This combines advanced local and cloud-based AI for personalised, secure, and efficient user experiences. Key features include:

On-Device and Cloud AI Integration

The on-device AI (Gram chat On-Device) is powered by a small language model from LG AI Research's EXAONE. It processes data locally for fast and accurate responses while ensuring security. Features like Time Travel allow users to revisit past content such as web pages and files quickly.

The cloud-based AI (Gram chat Cloud) uses GPT-4o to provide detailed insights via the web. It integrates with personal calendars and emails to boost productivity. A one-year free subscription to Gram chat Cloud is included. This hybrid approach offers smarter functionality while maintaining user privacy and productivity.

Advanced Processors for Enhanced Performance

The 2025 LG Gram laptops are equipped with Intel's latest processors, including the Intel Core Ultra H-Series (Arrow Lake) and V-Series (Lunar Lake). These processors cater to high-performance tasks; the H-Series focuses on traditional computing power, while the V-Series is optimised for AI-driven experiences.

Arrow Lake models enhance computing and graphics capabilities compared to the 2024 versions. Lunar Lake models incorporate Microsoft's Copilot+ PC functionality, enhancing productivity with features like real-time subtitle translation and AI-generated images.

Leading Models in the Lineup

The flagship model of the 2025 lineup is the LG Gram Pro 17Z90TR. It combines performance with portability, featuring an Arrow Lake CPU and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 graphics in a slim design suitable for professionals on the move.

The LG Gram Pro 16Z90TS is notable for being the first in the series to include Microsoft's Copilot+ functionality. It's ultra-portable at just 0.49 inches thick and weighs only 2.73 pounds. The 16Z90TR model has a 16-inch display and weighs just 2.64 pounds, making it the lightest in the Gram Pro lineup.

Innovative Features for Versatility

The LG Gram Pro 2-in-1 (16T90TP), which received a CES 2025 Innovation Award, offers added flexibility with a wirelessly rechargeable stylus that enhances interactivity for creative professionals.

The LG Gram Book (15U50T) serves as an entry-level option aimed at expanding LG's presence in the U.S. market. It features a 15.6-inch Full HD display, a 720p HD webcam, and a slim design that delivers key benefits of the Gram series at a more accessible price point.

Enhanced Connectivity with Gram Link 2.0

The lineup also introduces Gram Link 2.0, an updated version of LG's device connectivity feature that allows seamless content sharing across different operating systems like iOS and Android. Users can manage incoming phone calls directly from their Gram laptops, minimising workflow disruptions.

The pricing and availability details for these laptops will be announced during CES or when they are rolled out globally next year.
