HP OmniBook 5 and 3 Laptops Launched in India: Check Price, Specs, Availability

HP has added two new laptop lines to its India portfolio—OmniBook 5 and OmniBook 3—focusing on users who want next-gen AI capabilities in relatively affordable machines.

These models come equipped with dedicated neural processing units (NPUs) and ship with Microsoft’s Copilot integration out of the box.

HP OmniBook 5 and 3 Laptops Launched in India: Check Price, Specs

AI Inside, Different Chips for Different Models

The OmniBook 5 is built on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Plus platform, while the OmniBook 3 models are powered by AMD’s Ryzen AI 300 series processors. Both include NPUs that can reportedly handle between 45 to 50 trillion operations per second (TOPS), which enables them to run certain AI tasks on-device rather than relying on cloud servers.

The OmniBook 5 is limited to a 14-inch model, while the OmniBook 3 comes in both 14-inch and 15.6-inch sizes. HP claims the Snapdragon-based OmniBook 5 offers up to 34 hours of battery life, though real-world usage will depend heavily on screen brightness, app usage, and background activity. The larger AMD-based models trade some battery claims for port variety and larger displays.

AI Use Cases Focused on Everyday Tasks

Rather than introducing complex AI tools, HP is leaning into features that apply to daily routines. The laptops include HP AI Companion, which is meant to adjust system performance automatically based on usage patterns. There’s also Windows Studio Effects for improving video calls—features like auto-framing and background noise removal are included by default.

Each model also comes with a dedicated Copilot key on the keyboard, giving users quick access to Microsoft’s AI assistant for writing help, scheduling, or quick web searches. It’s a small addition, but potentially useful if Copilot becomes more deeply integrated with Windows in the future.

Build and Design

The design on both series sticks to a clean layout in Glacier Silver. The OmniBook 5 uses a 2K OLED display, which will appeal to users looking for better contrast and color depth. The OmniBook 3 uses Full HD displays, with the 15.6-inch model offering an 85% screen-to-body ratio. Port selection includes USB Type-C, USB Type-A, and HDMI on both series, which should cover most basic needs.

HP says these laptops also include recycled and ocean-bound plastics in their construction. This is in line with its broader sustainability efforts, though those materials don't necessarily affect daily use or performance.

Availability and Pricing

The OmniBook 5 (14-inch) is priced at ₹75,999, while both the 14-inch and 15.6-inch OmniBook 3 variants are available at ₹69,999.

All three models are already on sale through HP’s online store as well as offline retail outlets like HP World, Croma, and Reliance Digital. An 8-month no-cost EMI plan is also available at some offline stores.
