Lenovo launches ThinkPad 11e and 11e Yoga laptops, 500e Chromebook
The new 5th generation ThinkPad 11e and ThinkPad 11e Yoga are said to be lighter and thinner than the previous generation".
Lenovo has announced the ThinkPad 11e and 11e Yoga laptops, 500e Chromebook along with the 100e and 300e Chromebooks that it had unveiled in association with Microsoft Education earlier today. All the new laptops from Lenovo are designed specifically for education. They are meant for the use in classrooms. We have already reported about the Lenovo 100e and 300e Chromebooks, so we will only detail the specs of the ThinkPad 11e and 11e Yoga laptops, and the 500e Chromebook.
Featuring rubber bumpers, reinforced ports and hinges, and anchored keyboards, the "Chromebooks hardened for education environments," according to Lenovo. The entire new range of laptops is also claimed to be MIL-SPEC tested including drop-testing up to 29.5 inches. Since they are targeted at students, the laptops come with some software tools like Lenovo LanSchool and AirClass, Google Classroom, and G Suite for Education.
ThinkPad 11e and ThinkPad 11e Yoga
The new 5th generation ThinkPad 11e and ThinkPad 11e Yoga are said to be lighter and thinner than the previous generation". As suggested by the name, both the laptops come with an 11.6-inch HD IPS display with an optional touch screen on the 11e. Based on Windows 10 OS, the laptops are powered by the latest Intel N series processors. The new Lenovo ThinkPad laptops can offer up to 12 hours of battery life, according to the company.
The ThinkPad 11e Yoga is also equipped with a garaged pen for easier storage and world-facing camera allowing users to capture pictures and videos in tablet mode.
500e Chromebook
The Lenovo 500e Chromebook is fitted with an 11.6-inch HD IPS display with Gorilla Glass on top. It is powered by a quad-core Intel Celeron N3450 processor, clubbed with up to 8GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The Chromebook also ships with a bundled pressure sensitive pen and a 5MP world-facing camera. The device offers up to 10 hours of battery life and it comes in multi-mode form factor.
Pricing and Availability
The Lenovo ThinkPad 11e has a starting price tag of $429 (approximately Rs. 27,400), whereas the ThinkPad 11e Yoga starts at a price of $499 (approximately Rs. 31,800). Both the laptops will be available starting next month.
The Lenovo 500e Chromebook, on the other hand, carries a starting price tag of $349 (approximately Rs. 22,300) and it will be available sometime later this month.
