Lenovo's new budget laptop costs less than a mid-range smartphone

    Lenovo, a well known computing-device maker, has now come up with an affordable laptop for the price concious consumers. Dubbed as IdeaPad 100s, the affordable laptop runs the Windows 10 OS and is priced at Rs 14,999.

    Lenovo had first unveiled this laptop at the IFA 2015, alongside the launch of Lenovo Phab and Phab Plus hybrid. However, the company has launched a slightly different version of the Ideapad 100s laptop. The laptop is a Snapdeal exclusive product in India.

    Speaking of the specifications and features, the IdeaPad 100s has a 11.6-inch display with 1,366 x768 pixels of resolution. It is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom Z3735F processor clocked at 1.83GHz, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The storage is expandable via microSD card slot.

    Measuring in at 17.5mm thick, the device weighs at 1kg. As extras, it features a Dolby Advanced Audio and is backed by a one-year warranty.

    This budget laptop comes with mediocre camera specs, which inlcude a 0.3MP webcam. It has a standard QWERTY keyboard.

    In terms of connectivity, the phone include Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB, and HDMI. To power it up, there is a 2-cell 39Whr battery that can last for up to 8 hours of use, as per company claims.

    The budget device is good for travel and light use, considering that it doesn't have heavy specifications but brings almost every feature that you would need for doing basic things on a laptop.
