Apple has launched the new MacBook Air with the M5 chip, which is claimed to deliver up to 4x faster performance for AI tasks than the M4 version. The next-gen MacBook Air also offers 512GB of storage as standard, along with a new SSD that delivers up to 2x faster read and write performance compared to the previous generation. MacBook Air M5: Specifications

The latest MacBook Air with the M5 chip is available in two screen sizes - 13.6-inch and 15.3-inch - both featuring a Liquid Retina display with up to 500 nits of brightness and support for 1 billion colors.

As noted, the MacBook Air with M5 now comes standard with 512GB of storage - double that of the previous generation - and can be configured up to 4TB for the first time. Running macOS, it comes with Apple Intelligence support and two Thunderbolt 4 ports for connecting accessories and supports up to two external displays with a native resolution of up to 6K at 60Hz.

For battery, the MacBook Air offers up to 18 hours of battery life and supports fast charging, delivering up to 50% charge in just 30 minutes. It comes equipped with a 12MP Center Stage camera and a four-speaker sound system. The laptop also supports Spatial Audio when playing music or video with Dolby Atmos on the built-in speakers. Moreover, it includes a new N1 wireless networking chip, enabling Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 for improved performance and reliability.
