Microsoft Surface Book with 13.5 inch display and Intel Skylake processor launched
Microsoft has now added a whole new member to their Surface lineup, and guess what it's none other than a full size Laptop. Dubbed the Surface Book the 13.5 inch laptop plays second fiddle to the just launched 12.3 inch Surface Pro 4.
The Redmond giant is in fact calling it a full sized convertible for those who need power packed performance on the go. In fact the Microsoft Surface Book is the first Laptop built by the company.

The modestly large 13.5 inch display comes with 6 million pixels, 267 ppi and minimal bezels. The best part is that the screen is optically bonded to the touch pad, this is not seen in most laptops available in the market. In fact the optically bounded display will help in better viewing angles and color reproduction.
The Surface Book is rather a Convertible to be precise i.e. it can always be docked out from the keyboard and used a standalone tablet. Microsoft is freaking a lot about the new keyboard of the Surface Pro. In fact they claim that their backlit keyboards comes with deeper keys - 1.6mm in travel.
Further they claim that typing on a keyboard is more silent than ever via the one provided for the Surface Book. Additionally the keyboard also comes with a Glass Trackpad like the one seen with the Surface Pro 4. However this unit comes with five points of touch sensitivity.
Powering the Surface Book under the hood is the Intel latest gen i5 and i7 SoC which utilizes the company recently launched Skylake architecture. There's also an Nvidia GeForce GPU with GDDR5 memory. However you will need to keep the screen attached to the dock to use this GPU power.

The dock also includes two USB 3.0 ports and an SD card slot. Now coming to the battery, Microsoft claims that the Surface Book can run a full 12 hours on a single charge! The Redmond giant even goes to the extent of stating that, "Ounce-for-ounce, pound-for-pound; this is the fastest 13-inch laptop ever made anywhere on any planet."
Microsoft also takes a dig at the Apple by stating their latest tablet is twice as fast as the MacBook Pro. The Microsoft Surface Book will go on sale October 26th with prices starting at $1,499 i.e. Rs 1, 00,000. Preorders will begin from October 7th.
