Japanese consumer electronics company Panasonic has now launched the world's first 2-in-1 fully rugged detachable notebook, Toughbook CF-33 in India. This high-end laptop is designed to cater to the needs of professionals like police, emergency services, government agencies, defense, field service workers, maintenance and service technicians is utilities and telecommunications.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Vijay Wadhwan, Business Head System and Solution Business, Panasonic India said, "Users today are looking to do more with rugged devices than ever before. With the evolving needs of enterprise and government sectors, we are transforming with times to offer best computing solutions for our customers. Old bulky laptops present safety concerns, portability issues and are not very resilient to damage."

He further added, "We at Panasonic are constantly looking to offer products that not only improve the efficiency but enhance productivity and bottom-line performances for a number of years."

Likewise, "Panasonic Toughpads enjoy 65 percent market share in India and with the introduction of new products in 'Toughbook' and 'Toughpad' series, we aim to increase our market share to over 70 percent," said Gunjan Sachdev, Business Head, Toughbook and Toughpad Division, in a statement.

However, coming to the new product, Panasonic CF-33 features magnesium chassis, and IP65 water and dust resistance. The Toughbook comes with 10-finger capacitive touch 12-inch QHD screen (2160x1440).
The key feature of the new 2-in1 Toughbook is that it can be easily detached from a laptop state and be used as a tablet. The screen can be rotated, taken off or reattached depending on the use case.

Under the hood, CF-33 is powered by Intel i5-7300U paired with 4/8/16GB RAM and 128/256/512GB of storage. The CF-33 also sports a 2MP webcam with stereo microphones and 8MP documentation rear camera. Toughbook weights 2.76 Kg in laptop mode and 1.53 Kg in tablet mode. It has a drop resistant of up to 120 cm (4 feet approx).

On the connectivity front, CF-33 offers set of business interfaces with additional options like USB 3.0, HDMI, LAN, micro SD-XC and audio ports. The keyboard dock includes 2x USB 3.0, USB 2.0, LAN, Serial, HDMI, SD-XC and VGA ports. Additional tablet configuration options include second USB 2.0 port, Serial, Barcode Reader, Smartcard Reader, Contactless Smart Card Reader and Fingerprint Reader.

This is Panasonic's 7th generation rugged Toughbook laptop and one of the first laptops powered by the latest generation Intel Core vPro processor. The laptop is priced at Rs 2,70,000 and is expected to be available in country's leading online retailers soon.
