WWDC 2024: macOS Sequoia Brings iPhone Mirroring, Window Tiling, and More
At WWDC 2024, Apple announced the next version of macOS, called macOS Sequoia. This update brings a range of new features for Mac users including iPhone Mirroring and a new Highlights feature to Safari. A notable addition is Apple Intelligence, a personal intelligence system for Mac, iPhone, and iPad. It merges generative models with personal context to provide useful and relevant intelligence.
The tech giant is now expanding its Continuity functionality with iPhone Mirroring. This feature lets users access and engage with their iPhones directly from their Macs. Users can drag and drop items between their iPhone and Mac. The iPhone remains locked, ensuring no one else can access it.

Safari is also getting a new Highlights feature, enabling users to access web information like directions, summaries, and quick links to learn more about people, music, movies, and TV shows. Moreover, macOS Sequoia offers new ways to stay organised with window tiling. When a user drags a window to the screen edge, macOS Sequoia suggests a tiled position on the desktop. New keyboard and menu shortcuts help users organise tiles even faster.
In addition, the latest systemwide Writing Tools built into macOS Sequoia allow users to rewrite, proofread, and summarise the text in various applications, including Mail, Notes, Pages, and third-party apps.
The macOS Sequoia also makes it easier to present, allowing users to preview what they're about to share and compatible with apps like FaceTime and Zoom. Users can now apply built-in backgrounds, including a variety of colour gradients and system wallpapers, or upload their photos. One can also change the background during a video call in FaceTime or in other third-party apps.
Further, gaming is getting Assassin's Creed Shadows, the next instalment in Ubisoft's blockbuster series alongside Spatial Audio.
