The Infinix Smart 5 comes as the newest budget smartphone in the Indian market. The device wears a reflective design at the back with a textured pattern. The device rear panel accommodates an L-shaped camera array inside a vertical module on the top-left corner. There is also a circular fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication at the back. The handset has been packed with a waterdrop style notch display. The bezel-profile is also thin on all corners. The tall 6.82-inch display gets complemented by an HD+ resolution, 440 nits peak brightness, and 90.6 percent screen-to-body ratio. The display has a 20:5:9 aspect ratio and a standard 60Hz refresh rate making it optimum for HD media playback.

The Indfinix Smart 5 uses the MediaTek Helio G25 processor for gaming and multitasking. As far as the color options are concerned, the smartphone is announced in 6° Purple, Aegean Blue, Morandi Green, and Obsidian Black color options. The pricing is strategic looking at the spec-sheet. However, the device has got Poco C3 as one of the biggest rivals in this segment. The latter has a slightly higher price tag but offers higher RAM and capacity.

The Infinix Smart 5 features pack a 13MP primary sensor at the rear with an f/1.8 aperture and a low light secondary sensor for imaging. It is a basic setup that will allow the unit to capture clear images in daylight. An additional depth sensor or a macro lens would have allowed for a better imaging output. The device gets an 8MP camera for selfies which is tucked inside the waterdrop notch. This sensor has an f/2.2 aperture and is capable enough for good self-shots.

With moderate usage, you can expect the device to last for more than one day on a single charge. Besides, the physical fingerprint scanner on the rear panel, the smartphone also has a Face Unlock feature. The Infinix Smart 5 runs on Android 10 OS and has XOS 7 UI on top.

The Infinix Smart 5 seems to be a decent addition to the budget smartphone lineup in India. The smartphone brings along all the necessary set of hardware that you can expect from a budget smartphone. A good selfie camera and a massive 6,000 mAh battery is what will drive the crowd. As mentioned earlier, the Infinix Smart 5 gets the Poco C3 is one of the key rivals. Therefore, it would be interesting to see if this handset stands up well against the Poco C3 or not.
