Oppo A54: Design

Oppo has announced its latest budget offering in the Indian market called the Oppo A54. The smartphone features a similar design as its successor with a gradient rear panel and a punch-hole display. The back panel has a three-cameras and an LED flash housed inside a vertical array on the top-left. The back panel has a plain texture. The Oppo A54 comes with a 6.51-inch HD+ display which has 720 x 1600 pixels resolution and a peak brightness of 550 nits. The LCD panel has an 89.2 percent screen-to-body ratio and a pixel density of 269 PPI. The panel supports a standard 60Hz refresh rate and is suitable for HD video playback online.

Oppo A54: Hardware Performance

The Oppo A54 is driven by the MediaTek MT6765V processor which is otherwise known as the MediaTek Helio P35 chipset. It is an entry-level octa-core chipset that combines PowerVR GE8320 GPU and up to 6GB RAM for graphics and multitasking respectively. The device will perform well with daily tasks such as web surfing, media playback, and calling. You can expect a fair gameplay response as well. The device is available with up to 128GB storage configuration which will let you store your personal and professional data. You can also add an external microSD card if you want some extra space for your files.

Oppo A54: Price To Specs Ratio

The Oppo A54 has been launched with a decent price tag in the country. It can be purchased with a starting price tag of Rs. 13,490. You will get the base model with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage configuration. The handset is also available with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration. You will need to spend Rs. 14,990 for this model. There is another variant that packs 6GB RAM and 128GB storage which is priced at Rs. 15,990. Color options available are Crystal Black, Moonlight Gold, and Starry Blue. 

Oppo A54: Camera Performance

The Oppo A54 uses a triple-lens camera setup for imaging. The device packs a 13MP primary camera at the back with an f/2.2 aperture, a 2MP macro sensor with an f/2.4 aperture, and another 2MP sensor for bokeh effects with the same f/2.4 aperture. The cameras will deliver a decent output with the primary sensor capturing a fair amount of detailing in daylight. The punch-hole upfront has a 16MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. This massive sensor will allow the device to capture good self-portraits and also help with better video calling.

Oppo A54: Important/ Highlight Features

The Oppo A54 is a 4G smartphone that comes with a USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity options. The device features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security. This feature was present in its predecessor as well. The final key highlight of this smartphone is a 5,000 mAh battery aided by 15W fast charging support. 

Oppo A54: Verdict

If we look at the overall spec-sheet and compare the pricing of the Oppo A54 with the competitions, then it lands in the category of decent budget smartphones. The 16MP selfie camera and 15W fast charging supported 5,000 mAh battery is what gives this device an edge over its rivals. Besides, it brings the modern punch-hole display design to the table adding a few extra points to the overall package.
