Redmi 9A Sport Design

Redmi recently unveiled a couple of new phones under its banner, which are the Redmi 9 Activ, Redmi 9A Sport, and the Redmi 9i Sport. Among these, the Redmi 9A Sport packs a couple of unique features that make it an interesting purchase. The phone flaunts a 6.53-inch IPS LCD panel with an HD+ resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The Redmi phone offers Reading Mode certified by TUV that protects your eyes from harmful blue light. The overall design seems largely similar to the Redmi 9i Sport. 

Redmi 9A Sport Hardware Performance

The Redmi 9A Sport draws power from the Helio G25 chipset, which is once again the same as the Redmi 9i Sport. The processor is paired with up to 3GB RAM and 32GB default storage. The key difference between the Sport models is in the RAM prowess, where the Redmi 9i Sport is much more powerful. With limited 3GB or 2GB RAM, the Redmi 9A Sport can handle your routine smartphone tasks, but not so much when it comes to gaming. 

Redmi 9A Sport Camera Performance

The camera department on the Redmi 9A Sport includes a dual-camera setup with a 13MP primary shooter and a supporting AI camera. There’s a 5MP AI selfie camera on the phone – which once again makes it similar to the Redmi 9i Sport. Here too, the cameras are a bit of a disappointment. 

Redmi 9A Sport Price-To-Specs Ratio

The Redmi 9A Sport is available in two models with a 2GB + 32GB model costing Rs. 6,999 and the 3GB + 32GB model costing Rs. 7,999. For the asking price, the Redmi 9A Sport is a pretty basic phone with entry-level specs and RAM capability. The phone is up against other basic phones with a similar price tag from Poco, Realme, and others. The very-own Redmi 9i Sport is also a close competitor. 

Redmi 9A Sport Important Features/Highlights

The Redmi 9A Sport also includes a 5,000 mah battery, which is a huge plus point on the phone. Like all other Xiaomi phones, the Redmi 9A Sport also runs MIUI custom software, which might include bloatware. The added bloatware to the limited RAM and ROM could further dampen the performance. 

Redmi 9A Sport Verdict 

Overall, the Redmi 9A Sport is a pretty basic, entry-level smartphone. The display and the cameras are quite disappointing on this phone – but the processor makes up for it. However, if you want a more capable phone with the Redmi design, check out the Redmi 9i Sport for better performance.
