Samsung has joined the affordable 5G smartphone race with the launch of the Galaxy M32 5G in India. The mid-range 5G phone brings a tall 6.5-inch TFT display. It is an HD+ panel that supports a standard 60Hz refresh rate. You will be able to stream HD videos on the go via OTT platforms. There is a waterdrop notch for the selfie camera. The Galaxy M32 5G has a matte-textured rear surface which along with the single tone paint job gives it a subtle appeal.

Samsung has used the new generation Dimensity 720 processor to power the Galaxy M32 5G. This octa-core MediaTek processor is placed in between the Dimensity 700 and Dimensity 800U SoC. You can expect the device to perform well with basic and moderate tasks. Performance with extensive tasks as well as gaming will also be decent. The handset has been launched with up to 8GB RAM which can easily handle multitasking. The onboard storage capacity is up to 128GB which is also ample to store large-sized documents. However, there is also an additional up to 1TB microSD card support that will cut down on the storage crunch issues.

The Samsung M32 5G’s low-end variant which packs 6GB RAM and 128GB storage can be purchased at Rs. 20,999. The high-end 8GB RAM model is announced at Rs. 22,999. You can buy this handset from both online and offline markets in the country. The colour options announced are Slate Black and Sky Blue.  The pricing is cheaper for a 5G Samsung phone but comparatively higher than the Chinese 5G phones.

The Samsung Galaxy M32 5G uses four rear cameras for imaging. The device has a 48MP main camera which is paired up with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a pair of 2MP sensors for imaging. This is a common camera specification we have seen on several mid-range devices this year. The camera module is well equipped to handle daylight shots. Night camera performance wouldn’t be as great as the daylight.  There is a 13MP selfie snapper that will capture good shots for social media uploads.

The Samsung Galaxy M32 5G features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner which is the newest trend with mid-range smartphones. The smartphone ships with Android 11 OS and has a custom One UI interface. The power delivery is handled by a 5,000 mAh battery that gets 15W fast charging support. This setup is adequate for a backup of more than half a day on a single charge and with moderate usage.

The Samsung Galaxy M32 5G is overall a decent mid-ranger which you should consider if a non-Chinese smartphone is what you are looking for. While the device offers 5G network support and a good processor, camera, and battery, the HD+ display at an asking price of Rs. 20,999 is a bummer. The display is one mismatch here.
