10 Best Smartphones Launched in India in December 2014

With only mere hours until Christmas Eve, stores are flooded with consumers. With the holidays are in full swing, it's wonderful to indulge to indulge in shopping. What better way to celebrate holidays than with a new smartphone.

Last month wasn't necessarily a great period to buy swanky gadgets, due to slowdown in number of launches. However, this month proved to be quite interesting when it comes to number of launches. As usual, not all devices that get launched are great in terms of specification and features.

Huawei Ascend P7

After a long wait, Huawei finally launched the Ascend Mate 7 in India. The Ascend P7 was originally launched at an event held in Paris. The device is the successor to the Ascend P6. The device will undoubtedly be pitted with some of the best looking smartphones available onto market, including the Gionee Elife S5.1, Samsung Galaxy S5, and probably the Sony Xperia Z2. The device is priced around Rs. 24,000.

Micromax Canvas Selfie

The Canvas Selfie is a new smartphone with a 13MP front-facing camera aimed at those who enjoy taking 'selfie' photos. has also packed in some new selfie-focused software features like Eye Enhancement; Face slimming; Skin Smoothening; Teeth Whitening; Remove Oil, among others. The phone will be available in India from January second week.

Vivo X5Max

China's Vivo made its grand debut in India this month. The company also unveiled the word's slimmest smartphone, the X5 Max. The handset Max comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p display and a Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor. The device is priced around Rs. 32,000.

HTC Desire 620G

This month, HTC introduced its new budget handset, dubbed as HTC Desire 620. The handset sports a 5-inch display 720p HD screen and a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek processor along with 1GB RAM under the hood. The device is now available in India around Rs. 15,885.

Motorola Moto X (2nd Gen) 32GB

Although first made available in India earlier this year, the company has now introduced the 32GB version of the Moto X (2014). Coming in Black and Royal Blue, Motorola Moto X (2nd gen) 32GB is exclusively available on Flipkart. The handset is now available at a price of Rs. 32,999

Spice Dream Uno H

The Dream Uno H is now available exclusively on Snapdeal.com. It has been launched especially for the 300 million Hindi speaking people in the country. The phone is also available across all leading mobile retail stores and Spice Hotspot stores at Rs. 6,299.

Micromax Yu Yureka

The Indian based handset manufacturer Micromax has launched its latest Yu branded budget smartphone powered by Cyanogen. Micromax smartly implemented the insanely popular CyanogenMod into its Yu Yureka smartphones. Unlike its various other smartphones aimed at everyday consumers - the Yu Yureka - will be available by the second week of January, next year with a price tag of Rs. 8,999.

iBall Andi 4L Pulse

Ball Andi 4L PULSE is a low-cost Windows Phone 8.1 running smartphone. It sports a 4-inch display and a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor paired with 1GB of RAM. The device will cost you Rs. 4,899.

Nokia Lumia 638 4G LTE

While losing its grip in the high-end section, Microsoft is aggressively betting on the low-end phone to push the Lumia sales and Windows phone market share. Recently, the Redmond giant launched another affordable smartphone in India, the Microsoft Nokia Lumia 638. Carrying a price tag of Rs. 8,299, it will be available for pre-booking from December 17th on Amazon.in and Microsoft Brand store.
