Apparently, during the launch event the company did not inform that they would soon add the 128GB version of the popular ZenFone 2. Now the 128GB variant of the ZenFone 2 has been listed on Flipkart at a price of Rs. 29,999, a slight bit more expensive than the 64GB, which retails for around Rs. 23,999 in the Indian market.
At the time of filing the story, the high-end 128GB variant of the ZenFone 2 mentioned as 'coming soon', confirming that it might get released in the next 15 to 20 days.
It would be the first time 128GB variant of the ZenFone 2 has been listed in India ahead of other markets, reflecting the firm's desire to battle growing competition from cheaper Chinese-made rival such as Xiaomi and Huawei.
The decision to bring this special high-end variant came after rival Xiaomi reported a record opening sales numbers for its Mi4i handset. As per the latest sales figures, Xiaomi sold a whopping 40,000 units of its Mi4i in just 15 seconds.The Mi4i, unveiled in Delhi last week, is Xiaomi's first global launch of a new product outside of China.
In other news, Asus on Thursday said that it has started rolling out the first firmware update for its new ZenFone 2 lineup. The new update brings volume key for camera bug fix; improve memory usage; system stability improvement, and improves Wi-Fi compatibility.
