Today we take a closer look at one of the battles taking place in the entry level Smartphone segment in India. The contestants are Micromax and Acer. The models are Micromax A70 and Acer Liquid E Plus.
Both the phones are full capacitive touch screen display equipped phones that have the Android 2.2 Froyo OS running in them. The main difference is that Acer has its own user interface running in their model as compared to the normal Android interface in Micromax A70.
Acer Liquid E Plus has a slightly bigger screen size of 3.5 inches as compared to the 3.2 inch screen size of Micromax A70. The smaller screen size does not deter A70 from providing a good visual experience that is on par with Liquid E.
On the camera front both the models have a 5 mega pixel rear camera that is equipped with technologies such as Autofocus and Digital Zoom. A70 also offers a front VGA camera that is absent on Acer Liquid E Plus and as such Liquid E Plus will not facilitate video chatting or calling on high speed 3G networks.
Both the phones are high on multimedia content support and facilitate playback of a large number of well known media files, both audio and video. Both look attractive to common users.
Micromax A70 and Acer Liquid E Plus are equipped with technologies such as -
3.5 mm Audio jack
The pricing is where A70 actually steamrolls Acer Liquid E Plus as it is priced at just Rs 7799 as compared to the Rs 12300 of the Acer model. With Micromax's superior sales and service support that is widespread across India, A70 would be a much better choice than Liquid E Plus.
