Acer Liquid Z5: 5 Inch Entry Level Smartphone Launched Powered By MediaTek MT6572
Taiwan based PC manufacturer announced an array of computing devices and smartphones earlier this month at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2014 in Las Vegas. Acer Liquid Z5 which was one among the lot was then said to hit the market within the couple of weeks.
As the company had promised, now the device has been seen selling in France already via eBay at €169 which translates to Rs. 14,000 in Indian currency.

The smartphone is not only available in the select European markets including UK, Italy and the Netherlands but Acer is also selling the Liquid Z5 at its home ground, Taiwan. It is available in Essential White and Gentle Grey color variants.
The Liquid Z5 which appears to be a mid-range smartphone comes with a 5-inch capacitive touch screen display offering a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6572 processor with Mali 400 GPU coupled with a 512MB of RAM and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS. There is a 5MP rear camera with 5 elements f2.4 lens and LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing shooter as well.
Connectivity options include 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 + EDR and GPS. Dual SIM functionality is also present. The smartphone houses 4GB internal memory which is expandable up to 32GB and is powered by a 2000 mAh battery.

The handset features Quick Modes - a simple launcher that makes Android look a lot like Windows Phone 8.
The device is average in terms of specs, and the company could have offered a bit more of RAM at least to 1GB and a better display resolution.
And if the device will come to Indian market, it will face a bit more problem with the specs because the domestic manufacturers like Micromax, Karbonn, Intex and others are already offering a better smartphones in terms of specs at the same price point.
