Alcatel To Announce OneTouch Idol Mini At IFA: 4.3 Inch Smartphone Coming to India in Mid October


Alcatel, who is strongly coming up as the most desired tech vendor in the Indian market, will take you by surprise with their latest offering going to be unveiled at IFA Berlin 2013. Sources close to GizBot have indicated that Alcatel (now own by TCL Corporation) is planning to announce OneTouch Idol Mini at the upcoming tech show.

Alcatel One Touch Idol Mini - Detailed specifications


The Idol Mini comes with a 4.3-inch FWVGA IPS capacitive touch screen display having resolution of 480 x 854 pixels and oleophobic coating. It also houses Black Crystal touch panel. The touch screen also supports 5-point multi -touch.


The Alcatel Idol Mini has brushed metallic finish (see press shot). The device weighs 96 grams. Our sources say that the handset will be launched in three sizzling colors: Slate, Silver and Cranberry Pink. The device is slim and compact in nature and measures 7.9mm in terms of thickness.


The Alcatel OneTouch Idol Mini is powered by a 1.3GHz dual-core processor coupled with 512MB RAM and 8GB of internal memory. The actual user memory will be 5.6GB. We're also told that Alcatel has used MediaTek chipset (MT6572) in this very handset. Android 4.2 Jelly Bean comes out the box.


There's a 5MP rear facing camera given with HDR facility, Face detection, Touch focus and Panorama shot. Moreover, consumers can take advantage of LED Flashlight and digital zoom. The rear camera will be capable of recording videos at 720p HD (@30fps). Also add a VGA quality front facing camera.


Battery and Other Connectivity Options

The makers have decided to go for a 1,700mAh Li Ion battery. The phone supports dual SIM functionality. Other connectivity options include: 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, a microUSB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.0 A2DP, dual SIM standby, GPS with A-GPS, and micro SIM, among others.

GizBot has been informed that the Alcatel OneTouch Idol Mini will land in the Indian handset market around Mid-October 2013, while the smartphone will officially get launched at the upcoming IFA Berlin 2013. The retail price is still under wraps, however, our source has informed that it will be priced around Rs 10,000.


Alcatel is slowly and gradually increasing its smartphone portfolio in the highly competitive Indian market. Globally, most of the tier-1 tech vendors are coming up with mini variants of their flagship devices.

Recently, we have seen Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini launched in the Indian market. Another notable player HTC might announce HTC One Mini in the Indian handset market in the coming days to come.
