Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean Firmware Update: Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Gets Multi-View Functionality

Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean Firmware Update: Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Gets Multi-View Functionality

Samsung has introduced a new firmware update for its top selling Galaxy Note 2 model. The new update has brought new dimensions to the multi-tasking capabilities of the product. One of the latest features with this update is ‘Multi-Window’. With the new feature, users can now unlock two apps running at the same time. Users can also share the same screen space for running two applications. These additions were not included in the previous firmware update.

The new update also brings the latest version of Chrome Browser for Galaxy Note 2 users. The latest version will bring enhanced performance and stability to the browser. Samsung users might have enjoyed the multi-window functionality in Samsung Galaxy Note 800 tablet. But the only disadvantage it had was that it was compatible with only Samsung apps that have been pre-loaded with the device.

However the update in Galaxy Note II brings greater benefits to its users giving them the ability to work with both Samsung apps and Google apps.

The list of Google apps that supports multi-window functionality in Samsung Galaxy Note 2 include:

    • Gmail

    • YouTube

    • Chrome

    • Google Talk

There is no information regarding any other applications supporting split-screen functionality at the moment. But users can be optimistic as more and more developers are already planning to update their apps for supporting this feature.

The global rollout of the latest update has already started. Users might experience some delays in getting the update because of regional or operator delays. For those who are still unaware of Samsung Galaxy Note 2 features, it ships with 5.5 inch Super AMOLED display with Android jelly bean operating system on-board giving users unlimited customization abilities and delivering enhanced multimedia experience. High efficiency and faster computations are delivered using a powerful quad-core processor and 2 GB RAM capacity.
