Android 4.1 Jelly Bean: Micromax A110 Canvas 2 Gets Updated [How To Tutorial]
Micromax will be rolling out Android 4.2 Jelly Bean Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for their Micromax A110 Canvas 2, as promised. According to NDTV, the company spokesperson has confirmed that the update will be available from the second week of March. However, specific date for the update has not been mentioned.

Micromax however, will not be rolling out the update over the air. Instead, the customer will have to pay a visit to a service centers, to get their handsets updated, which is not exactly convenient. Apparently the update will be available free of charge.
Android 4.1 Jelly Bean will bring new features like Google Now, offline voice typing, expandable notifications and more, including performance improvements credited to Google's "Project Butter

Dimensions & Weight: Though the weight of the phablet is not disclosed by the manufacturer, Canvas 2 measures 147 x 76.5 x 9.7 mm in dimension.
Display: When it comes to the display, both the phablet has a 5 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. Processor: In this segment, A110 Canvas 2 comes with a 1GHz dual core processor.
Operating System:The phablet is flavored with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. Now upgradable to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Camera: On the camera optics front, A100 Canvas 2 has an 8MP rear camera and 0.3MP front camera.
Storage: When it comes to storage, Canvas 2 A110 has 4GB internal storage, 512MB and a micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB expandable memory.
Connectivity: In terms of connectivity, the phablet has 3G, Bluetooth, GPS with aGPS, USB 2.0 and Wi-Fi features.
Battery: Canvas 2 is loaded with a 2,000 mAh Li-ion battery offering 5 hours talk time and 180 hours standby.
Price: Canvas A110 is priced at Rs 9,999 in order to survive in the price conscious Indian market.
How To Update Tutorial
Here are the steps to install manual Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update to Micromax A110 Canvas 2, courtesy GizmoPhiliacs:
Step 1: Root your Micromax A110 Canvas 2 and install CWM recovery using the following guide given over here. However, if you have already rooted with CWM recovery installed, you can skip this step.
Step 2: Moving on, you will need to Download CynusT2JellyBean.zip. This zip file is a clockworkmod flashable version of Cynus Stock T2's stock Jelly Bean ROM.
Step 3: Transfer the downloaded zip file to your Canvas 2 Internal Storage.
Step 4: Next, you will need to switch off your phone and enter CWM recovery by pressing Volume Up + Volume Down + Power button simultaneously till the screen lights up.
Step 5: The pop up screen will ask you whether you want to go to Recovery or to Factory mode. Press Volume Up to go to CWM recovery mode.
Step 6: Select the Install Zip from SD card option and browse and select the zip file you downloaded in Step 2.
Step 7: After the installation of the zip file completes, select Wipe Data/Factory Reset and Wipe Cache.
Also go in Advanced>Wipe Dalvik Cache
Step 1: Click on reboot phone now.
Step 2: When the phone is switch on again, find the superuser SU app in your app drawer. If it's there, your Micromax A110 Canvas 2 has been rooted! But then, if you want to check and be sure, download The Root Checker App and check yourself.
Now, you have Android 4.1.1 based stock Cynus T2 Jelly Bean ROM with root access. Good Luck!
