Android 4.4 KitKat: Sundar Pichai Reveals The Next Version of Google OS
The Software giant Google will call the new version of mobile operating system Android KitKat, in a tie-up with Global beverage conglomerate Nestle. Google has officially announced that the Android 4.4 KitKat will be the official name of next-generation Android mobile OS. The Android maker also clarified that lucrative advertising deal is not a motive behind tie-up with Netherland-based Nestle. Kit Kat is one among the most active brands in social space.
The company's announcement came as a surprise, when Android Honcho Sundar Pichai announced the name of next-gen Android mobile OS via his personal Google + account. Moreover, Android has passed 1 billion activations, as per Mr. Pichai.

"We couldn't imagine a better name for our Android K release than the tasty chocolate that's been a favourite among the team since the early days of Android," said Marc Vanlerberghe, Director of Android Marketing
We're excited to announce this partnership with Android, the world's most popular mobile platform, which will help us to enable even more KitKat fans to enjoy their break," said Patrice Bula, Nestle's Head of Marketing.
The official press release issued by Nestle also stated that more than 50 million braded KitKat bars will be available in 19 countries including India, US, Australia, among others. To celebrate the coming of Android 4.4 KitKat, as a part of special contest you could win latest gen Nexus 7 tablets and Google Play store credits.
Google has also explained the reason behind naming Android 4.4 KitKat. Here's an excerpt from official Android/KitKat website.
"Android is the operating system that powers over 1 billion smartphones and tablets. Since these devices make our lives so sweet, each Android version is named after a dessert: Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, and Jelly Bean. As everybody finds it difficult to stay away from chocolate we decided to name the next version of Android after one of our favorite chocolate treats, Kitkat"
Google is yet to announce the availability of Android 4.4 Jelly Bean. Few days back, the tech giant formally launched Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. As of now , the first gen Nexus 7, Nexus 7 2 and Nexus 4 are powered by Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. More devices will be activated once tech vendors start updating their devices to latest v4.3 Jelly Bean. Meanwhile, nothing much is known about Android 4.4 KitKat.
The latest rumor says that Android 4.4 KitKat would not only run entry-level handsets, but it would support forthcoming Android notebooks, smart watches, tablets and lastly homeappliances. We're expecting the new version to arrive later this year alongside LG manufactured Nexus 5. Stay tuned to GizBot.
